April COVID-19 Updates
There is no change to the situation at BBI and our stadium remains closed.

20th April 2020
For the past month, Basketball Queensland has been in constant contact with Basketball Australia (BA), Sport and Rec and our associations to determine when basketball activities can resume. Given the current restrictions surrounding COVID-19 it’s difficult to make a determination on restarting competitions until those restrictions are lifted. As it stands, all basketball activities across the state will remain suspended until further notice.
BQJBC, CQJBC and QNJBC
BQJBC, CQJBC and QNJBC U12 & U14s – Suspended until further notice
We will review a revised start date with associations on Friday, 22 May 2020
We are currently working on a revised draw to ensure a full season for players
State Championships
U16 State Championships – Postponed (to be held at same venues if possible)
Due to the postponement of the Under 16 Australian Junior Championships, there is now an opportunity to conduct this tournament in July (school holidays) provided the current restrictions have been relaxed.
We will review this decision on Friday 22 May, 2020 to de
termine if this tournament can proceed at that time
U12 & U14 State Championships – Unchanged
Following consolation with our associations we have agreed to review the decision to hold the U12s (Boys & Girls: 7-10 July) and U14s (Girls: 28 June – 1 July and Boys: 2-5 July) on Friday 22 May, 2020
All U12, U14 & U16 State Championships participants have been emailed to provide their feedback on holding the State Championships in the July holidays.

State Performance Program (SPP) & National Performance Program (NPP)
All SPP and NPP programs will remain suspended until further notice
U18 & U16 Australian Junior Championships (AJC)
Both the U18 and the U16 AJC are no longer proceeding on their original dates and BA are currently determining if they will be held in 2020
QSL
Start date for the QSL suspended until further notice with a review date set for Friday, 22 May 2020
Annual Awards Dinner
Both the 2020 Annual Awards dinner and the BQ Annual Conference due to take place at the end of May have been cancelled. Award winners have been notified and will be announced publicly in May.
